Yesterday I went with Milla to photograph some dogs at the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh who need to be adopted. Some of you may know that my own baby, Astin, is a shelter dog, and this is something close to my heart. Naturally, puppies are very popular and quickly find new homes, but adult dogs have a harder time of it. From my own experience, I think adopting an adult dog can be a lot easier than a puppy! We guess that Astin was about one year’s old when we got him (in Texas), and he was already fairly house-trained–a big plus. Although he had some anxiety issues to work through, he’s been one of the best dogs you could ask for (my humble, unbiased opinion, of course).
So, I’ll be highlighting some of the doggies we photographed in the coming days, and if you feel you can adopt one of them, don’t hesitate to contact the Animal Rescue League of Pittsburgh. These photos will soon be on their website, too.
Hi, I’m Chubbs. I need someone to take me for more walks…
And I’m Phineas. I look a lot like Astin, and I have a lot of energy! I’d like to have a family to play with.
Milla meeting Hazel…
Stay tuned for more sweet doggies!

Alicia Jankowski - I knew there was something special about you beyond your photographic skills.
My children and I are volunteers with the Washington Area Humane Society and I do some of the photos for the website. I have a gallery on smugmug dedicated to hosting the images. If you want a real challenge try photographing the cats! Great images of the dogs here. I am sure quality images will help getting them into forever homes quicker!
Milla - Love love love them!!! So precious… I love the Astin look-alike!
Lindsay - What a GREAT way to use your talents! I love that you gals are helping those sweet doggies find homes!
