Not only was I worried about Sarah and Zach’s engagement session getting rained out on Saturday, but I also was planning on meeting up with Katie and Brad for their engagement photos in Pittsburgh’s Mellon Park. Fortunately, the heavy thunderstorms held off long enough for us to have a (mostly) rain-free engagement session.
Katie and Brad met in high school and spent a lot of time hanging out and doing the same activities. Brad ran track while Katie competed in field events, and they both performed in their school plays. She thought he was cute, and he loved her laugh. Eight years later, Brad asked Katie to marry him with a nod to the same words he used to ask her out so many years before: “Do you want to give this a try?” Though this time, I don’t think they have any doubts of how things will turn out. They are getting married this August on a very special day to me–my own anniversary–and I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding.
I loved the new tulips they planted at the park.

There was one lone red one amongst all the white.

I love this shot…it may have something to do with the birch tree.

This merry-go-round was less than cooperative. It basically didn’t want to turn. Lame.

Thanks for the fun session, and I’ll see you two in August!
