I wish I could remember one of the cheesy phrases we used to say in track to inspire you in your race, but thankfully our high school days are long past us- and I don’t.

Girl – you’re going to do AWESOME. Just enjoy the crowds and your feet hitting the pavement. Do you listen to music while you run – that often takes the edge of any fear or lack-of-motivation I’m having when I run. Let me know if you need any music suggestions – I go thru quite a variety (praise & worship, top 40, country, etc.)

And, I’m going to have to check out that book “Born to Run” that Irene suggested!

Hi there! I just finished reading “Born to Run” by Christopher McDougal. I have been running for years, but this book really re-motivated and re-energized me. After reading the book, I changed my form a bit, I started running just for the fun of it, and I feel better than ever! I highly recommend it!

And good luck! I have run the 10K that (used to?) take place with the Pittsburgh marathon, but never attempted anything longer. I’m impressed!

OK so I definitely just watched that with tears in my eyes the whole time. Wow… magnificent animal is right. Amazing.
