One of Pittsburgh’s hidden gems for wedding reception venues is the The Pittsburgh Golf Club in Squirrel Hill. When I photographed Julie and Darryl’s wedding reception there a few weeks ago, I was completely blown away by its beauty, charm, and incredible service. This private club situated near Oakland and the beautiful Schenley Park, Phipps Conservatory and Heinz Chapel is not well known because it’s not allowed to advertise. However, you do not need to be a member to have your reception here.
What makes The Pittsburgh Golf Club unique is its understated elegance and unbelievably good in-house catering. Immaculate wood floors, a wrap-around balcony, and several well-designed rooms allow your guests to enjoy the different stages of your wedding reception, from cocktail hour to the last dance surrounded in simple beauty. In addition to the great ambiance, your guests will enjoy The Pittsburgh Golf Club’s own chef and catering service, which is second to none. Seriously. I’ve gotten to enjoy quite a few wedding meals (many which were really good!), but hands down the meal Julie and Darryl’s guests enjoyed (and me too!) was by far the best I’ve ever had at a wedding. Great food is often sacrificed when planning a large party, but it certainly plays an integral part in your guest’s enjoyment of the reception. It’s one thing that won’t be overlooked at your reception at The Pittsburgh Golf Club.
