Excitement | Thanksgiving Eve

My friends will tell you I’m not a big holiday person. I don’t usually decorate the house with the changing seasons, and yes, I’m a little ashamed (but not really) to admit that I haven’t put up a Christmas tree since we’ve been married. A lot of that is due to us not living in the same state as our families and either not being here or not doing much around the holidays to warrant a full-fledged decorating.

But I’d be lying to you if I said I wasn’t excited about Thanksgiving tomorrow. Thanksgiving is probably one of my favorite holidays–much more so than Christmas. It’s a great time of good food and fellowship–usually with your family–but in our case with friends again this year. It’s also a nice time to reflect on your blessings and to give thanks for what you have–something I try to do everyday but often don’t. And last, but not least, it’s the day when my beloved Texas Aggies will play (and beat!) our arch-rivals those tea-sips from t.u. Whoop!

So while Jay and I will be far apart from our families tomorrow, we’ll be celebrating with some great friends who are like family to us here in Pittsburgh. I hope everyone of you has a blessed Thanksgiving, too!

Emilie - Happy Thanksgiving Mary. This is Max’s favorite holiday too- something about food and football feed a mans soul.
