27…er…38 Bridesmaid Dresses | A Look Back at the Year

A couple of weeks ago I compiled all the wedding dresses of my 2010 brides into one blog post. I thought it was fun to see all the beautiful details and gorgeous styles, and I particularly enjoyed remembering each of those wonderful weddings.

So, as this is the final week of 2010, I thought I’d do a few more “look backs” at the year. By the way, I hope everyone had a great Christmas! I’m still spending time with my family in Texas, though I’ll be returning to wintry Pittsburgh soon.

After a bride chooses her wedding dress (or sometimes before!), she gets to choose her bridesmaids’ dresses. This can either be a very fun or very stressful thing to do. Not only do you have to choose what color you want–and how that’s going to coordinate with everything else–but you also have to choose a style. And let’s face it, not all styles suit all body shapes the same.

It makes sense, then, that I saw a lot of brides choose a color and then let each bridesmaid pick the style she liked best. Another popular idea this year was to go with simple black dresses. Whatever you decide, you’re no longer restricted to the long-flowing prom style gowns that have been popular for a while.

This year I expect to see even more variation in bridesmaid dresses. I see some brides possibly doing away with the one color or style idea and just letting their bridesmaids choose a dress of their choice. We’ll just have to wait and see!

For now, enjoy these lovely bridesmaid dresses of 2010.
