Brooklyn Engagement Session | Lauren and Ian

March 21, 2011

After a whirlwind trip to NYC last week in which I photographed an engagement session in Brooklyn, captured some craziness at the St. Patrick’s Day parade, and ended with another great engagement session in Hoboken, NJ, I am finally back! Needless to say, I have lots to share, and I hope to make up for the lack of posts last week with some photo eye candy this week.

First up is Lauren and Ian’s Brooklyn engagement session. After chatting on Skype a few months ago, we agreed that it only made sense to do their engagement session in Brooklyn where they both live and work and where they have a lot of memories together (besides France and Boston!). To me, the most meaningful images are those that capture real life…those often ordinary moments that make up our everyday lives. Lauren and Ian decided to make their session be a (mostly) typical afternoon and evening together–dropping by a bookstore, riding the subway back to their apartment, and cooking dinner together with Coco their cat nearby. To be invited to catch a glimpse of someone’s personal life is an incredible privilege. Spending the evening with Lauren and Ian was so fun and enjoyable–not to mention tasty!

Lauren and Ian–many thanks for letting me into your lives for an evening! I’m so looking forward to your wedding in August.
