Off for More Adventures with Milla

By now, you’ve already been introduced to Milla, another wonderful Pittsburgh photographer and a dear friend of mine. In April we journeyed together to England, where we joined in the Royal Wedding festivities and photographed a couple of English weddings with Mike Garrard. The adventures continue this next week as we head to Alaska for some more photography learning.

Yes, I know it seems improbable, but our mentor just happens to live in Alaska! While we both focused on our photography and shooting ability this winter at the Foundation Workshop, Milla and I will be doing an intense two-day mini workshop on the business of our photography. There’s so much more to running a successful and customer-oriented photography business than just taking great photos (though that’s the foundation!). I know for me personally there’s a lot of little and some big things I want to improve on the business side of things, so I’m really looking forward to learning from another pro who has got it figured out. An added bonus is that we’ll be in the lovely state of Alaska with all the beauty it has to offer! I’m sure we’ll take some time to get some great photos.

So that means I’ll be pretty quiet next week on the blog as I focus on learning. But I promise I have some great weddings and shoots to share, so stay tuned. And of course every post needs a photo, so here’s one of Milla and me standing in an English rapeseed field back in April. Somehow, I look like a midget, but I’m blaming that on the slope. Thanks to Mike for taking the photo!

Nick Bombich - I look forward to seeing some great stuff when you get back.

Emilie - Wow, Alaska, what an adventure! Have a great time Mary.
