I can’t help but feel amazed and humbled every time I photograph a birth. It never gets old. The strength of the mother, the love of the family, the wonderful welcome of a new little person into the world. To be invited to document such a precious, intimate event is something I don’t take lightly. It’s always an honor, and I’m so grateful for the families that have trusted me with their child’s first moments.
Baby Anna has incredible parents–a determined and strong mother and an adoring, supportive father. I recently photographed her arrival at a hospital in Maryland. Here are a few pictures of her birth story (all shared with permission).
