Jefferson Memorial Wedding Photography | Megan and Wes

With the Jefferson Memorial and the Washington Monument in the background, Megan and Wes exchanged personal vows and celebrated their marriage with an intimate gathering of family and friends.  After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Lincoln restaurant.  If you’re going to have a DC wedding, this is the way to do it!

I so enjoyed capturing the joy and beauty of Megan and Wes’ wedding–it was a rare moment when they weren’t both grinning from ear to ear.  A big congratulations to Megan and Wes! Here are a few of my favorites photos from their day.

Christina Montemurro - Beautiful photos, Mary! These two have some pretty infectious smiles. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a groom smile so wide!

Virginia Maternity Photography | Alexis and Brendan

When I relocated from Pittsburgh several years ago, one of the hardest things was saying goodbye to friends and so many wonderful photography clients (often the same thing in my book!).  I’ve watched from a distance many wedding couples move on to have babies, and it’s been sad to miss out on documenting that next stage of their lives.

So, I have especially loved getting to reconnect with a few wedding couples who live in the area (or happen to come down for a visit!). This was the case this last Saturday when I met up with Alexis and Brendan for their maternity photo session at Occoquan Regional Park in Virginia.  I am so excited for them as they are about to enter a wonderful (and crazy) stage of life, and I’m glad we could make the session work before baby arrived! These two have such an awesome story together, and I’m sure it will only get better as they become parents.

Here are a few of my favorites from their maternity session.

Denver Engagement Photographer - Very pretty shots! Great work.

Maryland Newborn Photography | Baby Vera

Brand new sweetness. That’s baby Vera. I so enjoyed getting to take a few photos of her with her family together at home last week. The newborn stage is special…it’s a crazy time of adjustment to be sure, but it’s a sweet time of enjoying the new life you’ve been anticipating for so long.

And yes, just as everyone tells you, those first days and weeks will seem like a blur before you know it. That’s why I love taking newborn photos–they’re a beautiful reminder of a fleeting stage of your little one’s life.  Here are a few of my favorites from this session.

Joselyn Martinez Hill - Querida Sara!
Que gozo verte con tu bebita!
Vera es hermoza!
Me encantan las fotos.
Envia mas 🙂
Un fuerte abrazo para los tres!

It’s Cherry Blossom Time! (Almost)

We might just have gotten another eight inches of snow last night, but it really is almost spring here in DC! And that means one of my favorite DC things is right around the corner–CHERRY BLOSSOMS! Last year I so enjoyed getting to photograph the incredible beauty of the blossoms while taking family portraits, and I’m excited to offer Cherry Blossom Mini-Sessions again this year.

This year I’m offering 8 mini-sessions on Saturday April 12th. I’m being more cautious on my date this year…but just in case those little flowers haven’t bloomed by then (or show up surprisingly early!), the date may change.  However, the time to reserve your session is now! Call or email me as soon as you can if you want to reserve a time slot. See the flyer below for more details!

Come on, Spring!
