Peacock Feather Details | Wedding Inspiration

Details, details, details. Although I don’t often showcase a lot of photos of wedding details, it doesn’t mean I don’t think they’re important. It’s just that I’d much prefer to show a photo of a bride and groom overjoyed to be married on their wedding day than a pretty little bouquet of flowers. But, I also know that most every bride spends many hours planning and sometimes creating the details for her wedding day…and they do make a difference.

July 28, 2010 - 4:53 pm David Dunton - Evonne did a great job selecting and coordinating all these details, and Mary, you did a great job photographing them. I really like detail photos (not at the expense of big-picture images) and these are rich and vibrant and capture the shimmer, sparkle and textures wonderfully.

July 28, 2010 - 8:59 am mary - Awesome! Thanks Evonne for sharing the names of the people and companies you used!

July 27, 2010 - 6:54 pm Jo from Peacock Invitations - AMAZING! So romantic... love the colors:)

July 27, 2010 - 4:50 pm Evonne - Hey Mary! These are some phenomenal pics! Thanks for sharing them. It just goes to show that if you do your research, thanks to sites like ETSY you can plan an entire wedding around a few key inspirational pieces. My ball got rolling with the peacock feathers from finding our invitation company, peacockinvitations.com with Jo! After laying eyes on those, the rest came easy: feather accents galore with lots of teal and calla lilies. Some of the girls hair fascinators were found on ETSY as well from a great seller, called SWEETGRASSMILL! Jade, from SWEETGRASSMILL was the best to work with--fast, accomadating, and does spectacular work. I ordered my hair fascinator from BELLES AND CRYSTALS, and they customized exactly what I was visioning. With help from my mom and google, we found all the ideas for the centerpieces while working with the best freelance florist in Pittsburgh, Meme Betters! She was amazing and worked so hard, from her home, to come up with exactly what I imagined. My mom, stepmom, and friends all clipped coupons for Michael's ads to buy the vases. We bought a lot of Christmas decorations that were on sale for the floral details! We didn't use a wedding planner, it was a team effort through the entire process. Get a creative vision and find ways to work with them while staying in a certain budget. It's amazing what can be accomplished on your own with a little, well a lot, of time and effort! Thanks again Mary!!! :) Evonne

Twelve Oaks Mansion Wedding Photography | Sarah and Zach

I sincerely hoped that Sarah and Zach wouldn’t get rain on their wedding day, considering they had it for their engagement session at Hartwood Acres! Fortunately, all we had was a little humidity which cleared up for them to get some beautiful photos.

July 27, 2010 - 6:26 am Mark - Very Nice, Is that a bounce flash off the ceiling in the church or did the church have a skylight. You have a great way of isolating the subjects in your photos, especially the ones where the bride is getting ready, those are tough shots.

July 27, 2010 - 2:11 am David Dunton - The last shot is beautiful. Very artful establishing shot, very minimal and beautiful colors.

July 26, 2010 - 3:55 pm Mark Schwarz - Mary ... did you sent Jay out to get that last night shot with the stars?

July 26, 2010 - 12:53 pm Sarah! - Mary these photos turned out amazing, you captured Zach and I wonderfully. I love them all and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of them soon!

July 26, 2010 - 10:52 am Tressa - Mary you do such an amazing job of capturing emotion!

Phipps Conservatory Engagement Photos | Allison and John Paul

I love hearing about how couples met each other…sometimes it seems just be chance. What if they hadn’t been at such and such a place on a certain evening? I think life is fun like that. Allison and John Paul seemed to meet by chance one evening at Doc’s Place in Shadyside…or maybe it was fate. Either way, I’m glad they did because I had a lot of fun hearing about their story and hanging out with them this week at their engagement session.
