Capitol Hill Family Photography

In a break from the heat, I recently caught up with this lovely family for some updated pictures on Capitol Hill. I last saw sweet baby Becket when he was just a wee newborn, so it was fun to see how he’s grown. And of course it was fun to catch up with big sister Amelia, too.

Here are a few favorites from this family session by the Library of Congress. Also, that arched eyebrow serious look–I love it!

Silver Spring Newborn Photography | Baby Anna

After witnessing this little girl’s amazing birth, I got to meet up with her and her parents again at their Silver Spring, MD home for a more “official” newborn session. She already had two four-legged brothers to welcome her home with lots of kisses and snuffles. I so enjoyed seeing her again and capturing this new family at home.

Maryland Birth Photography | Baby Anna

I can’t help but feel amazed and humbled every time I photograph a birth. It never gets old. The strength of the mother, the love of the family, the wonderful welcome of a new little person into the world. To be invited to document such a precious, intimate event is something I don’t take lightly. It’s always an honor, and I’m so grateful for the families that have trusted me with their child’s first moments.

Baby Anna has incredible parents–a determined and strong mother and an adoring, supportive father. I recently photographed her arrival at a hospital in Maryland. Here are a few pictures of her birth story (all shared with permission).

Virginia Newborn Photography | Baby Abigail

It’s such a privilege to follow a family and document their growth–quite literally. I’ve been photographing Alexis and Brendan for almost six years now, and it was so fun to meet the newest member of their family a couple of weeks ago–baby Abigail.  She is quite loved by big brother Aidan and so very precious. Welcome to the world, Abigail.
