Last week I blogged about using gels to help balance your white balance at reception. I have just a couple of more things to note. (Exciting, I know!) You can certainly gel all your flashes--both the off-camera ones and the on-camera ones. In fact, at the last weeding I used only off-camera flash, so I placed gels on the off-camera flashes.

Last week I blogged about using gels to help balance your white balance at reception. I have just a couple of more things to note. (Exciting, I know!) You can certainly gel all your flashes–both the off-camera ones and the on-camera ones. In fact, at the last weeding I used only off-camera flash, so I placed gels on the off-camera flashes. Of course, since those lights don’t give an entire wash of light to the room, my white balance worked a little differently. You’ll just have to play around to see what works best for each scenario.

But, the other fun news is that the nice folks at Rosco sent me the Strobist package of gels, predesigned to fit on your flash. As far as how to connect them to your flash, a friend found these clips from the UK. I can’t say whether they work or not…anyone else have suggestions? I’m thinking a clip or velcro of some sort.

Have a great weekend!
