Yes! It’s the first of March, and they’re already predicting the peak bloom for the cherry blossom around the Tidal Basin here in D.C. This mild winter is shaping up to welcome an early spring!
So, with cherry blossoms, that means the return of Cherry Blossom Mini-Sessions! If possible I think I love the look of the cherry blossoms maybe just a tiny bit more than colorful fall foliage. Or maybe it’s just that it coincides with spring (or in this case “spring”), and I’m always ready to be done with winter.
When will the blossoms be reaching peak bloom? The forecast calls for March 14th-17th. So, to be safe, I’m scheduling this year’s mini-sessions on Saturday, March 18th. This could change if they somehow seem like they’ll be out even earlier…but hopefully we’ll still have blooms on the 18th.
And, since I have found those early morning light sessions to be especially lovely, I’m starting the sessions at 7:30am. I know getting kids out of the door super early is no easy thing, but perhaps you’re a couple and consider yourselves morning people? I promise that early morning light won’t disappoint!
