Although Jen and Lenny knew each others’ families growing up, the two of them didn’t actually meet until Jen was about to graduate from Penn State. A casual introduction in a bar led to a white water rafting first date (how fun is that?). When Jen later moved to Virginia to be a teacher, Lenny would regularly make the long drive to visit her. One afternoon he showed up in her classroom of third graders and got down on one knee (much to the delight of the students and of course Jen, too) and asked Jen to marry him. Obviously, she said yes.
Despite the cold weather on Saturday, I had a wonderful time getting to hang out with Jen and Lenny for their engagement session at Hartwood Acres. I remember when I first met Jen several months ago, she struck me as an incredibily sweet and caring person. And I could see that Lenny was completely devoted to her. Getting to spend more time with them only confirmed that impression–these two are not only both totally in love with each other, they are also each others’ best friends. I’m so looking forward to photographing their wedding in October at Oglebay Park in West Virginia.
Jen, you are gorgeous.
I love how Hartwood Acres always has a different look with the changing seasons. I think this was my first time shooting there in spring.
See you two in October!
