Wedding Planning Wisdom | How Much Time Do You Need?

I’m loving all the answers and feedback I’m getting from my wedding planning survey I posted last Tuesday, and if you still haven’t had a chance to share your words of wisdom, there’s still time. Feel free to share your thoughts, and I’ll keep posting the good advice.

Interestingly enough, I’ve gotten two different schools of thoughts on terms of time to allot for planning your wedding. Here’s a couple of quotes:

Was there anything you wished you had done differently in terms of planning?

“Given myself more time…..ie, had a longer engagement.” This bride apparently planned it all in under 6 months.

“We waited 2 years. We’ve been planning for 2 years and I feel like it hinders the urgency. I feel like things crept up on me because I’ve always had so much time, and now time is running out. If I could do it again, 1 year would have been plenty.”

So, it sounds like having a lot of time may be helpful in getting the locations and vendors of your choice, but it may also disguise the urgency in planning other smaller details. I’d like to hear more about this. Any brides care to chime in with what’s a perfect time for planning? Feel free to share your thoughts on the survey.

I’ll definitely share some more words of wisdom I’m hearing from brides who have been there and done that. In the meantime, I’ll keep the survey open till the end of the week, so feel free to complete it!
