Chasing the Sunset

I explained to Jay that I really wanted to get a photo of the sunset on the beach. So the other day we hopped in the Jeep and headed west, trying to outrun the rain showers that were close on our heels. As the light began to fade, it appeared that we would not escape the rain. We reluctantly turned back.

But, just as it often does, the rain cleared up, and we saw our chance. We pulled into a small beach frequented by feral cats and wild chickens, as well as campers (it appeared there were more cats than campers), and I jumped out to grab just a few photos before the light completely disappeared. It wasn’t the sunset photo I was envisioning, but I like it nonetheless. Sometimes the photo you get is not the one you planned for.
