DC Baby Photography | Penelope and Savannah

What’s cuter than one adorable baby? Two adorable babies!  I recently met up with Penelope and Savannah (who are cousins) and their moms (Caitlin and Maria) and their grandma for a fun photo session.

Living in the DC area, I’ve met a lot of families who live away from their extended family (like we do), and I think it’s a great idea to schedule a photo session when family is in town.  Those sweet moments together should be remembered and cherished, and a photo session is a great way to do that.

Ok, back to baby cuteness…here’s a few of my favorites from this session. Savannah is the older baby…Penelope is the younger one.

Georgetown Family Photography | Walker’s Family

This little guy just turned one, and I recently got to meet up with him and his parents for a family photo session in Georgetown. While all family sessions are fun for me to photograph, I particularly love reconnecting with long-time clients.  I’ve been following Katie and Max (or maybe they’ve been following me) around the Eastern US it seems now for forever. It started with their engagement session in Hobken, followed by their beautiful wedding at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort.

But I must say–and perhaps this is the mom in me now–I really love photographing client’s babies! I’m so glad I could be in the same area with them to capture little Walker’s sweet, sweet face and this wonderfully crazy time of their life.  Happy birthday to the little guy!

DC Maternity Photography | Caitlin and Charlie

There is so much beauty in this blog post…so much joy and excitement, too. Caitlin and Charlie are expecting their first little one in just a few short weeks, and I will hopefully be there to capture that incredible event.

But first we met up recently to take some beautiful belly photos and to document this time of waiting for baby.  Maternity sessions are some of my favorite to photograph because the moms-to-be are so beautiful–and I must say Caitlin is especially so with her radiant smile. I’m so looking forward to meeting their little one…but for now, here are some of my favorite photos from this DC maternity session.

DC Family Portrait Photography | The “K” Family

The more families I photograph, the more I realize how sweet and unique each individual family dynamic is. Or to put it more simply–I love capturing a family’s personality! This recent family portrait session in DC was no exception. I so enjoyed laughing and spending a (humid!) evening with these amazing parents and their four kids.

And is often the case…some of my favorite images are the ones that are less “scripted.” We certainly had some in this session…ones that I feel in some very small way pause time and give a tiny glimpse of the big love in this family. But enough words…let’s get to the photos. Here are a few of my favorites!

 

And finally–I must give a shout out to the artist in this family…Tracy is a wonderful artist whose mixed-media work can be admired and collected from her Etsy shop.
