Oakland Engagement Photos | Melissa and Ryan

Most of you probably know that I’m not originally from Pittsburgh, though I love the city very much now. I originally hail from the big state of Texas, where I spent a lot of my childhood and later graduated from Texas A&M University. So where is this going? For those of you not familiar with A&M, it’s a college with a lot of school spirit–we Aggies love our football (bad though our team has been of late) and our fellow Aggies. Our school has a lot of traditions, and overall, there’s a great sense of camaraderie. Unfortunately, there’s just not a lot of other Aggies up here in Pittsburgh, and Jay and I don’t get to share our school spirit as much as we’d like to.

So when I received an email from Melissa and she explained she was from Texas but getting married in Pittsburgh, I was definitely excited. But what really made me jump up and down with excitement was when we both found out we’re Aggies. Gig ‘Em! I never thought I’d photograph a fellow Aggie’s wedding in Pittsburgh, but she and Ryan will getting married at Heinz Chapel this fall with their reception at the Carnegie Museum. How fun is that?

On Wednesday, I finally got to meet both Melissa and Ryan, as they live out of state (Ryan’s from Pittsburgh originally), and we photographed their engagement session around the Oakland area. I definitely had fun hanging out with these two, and I love how they make each other laugh so much. I’m looking forward to their wedding in November!

OK, it was HOT out.

This random dog thought it was hot, too.

Don’t ask about the story behind this one. Something about a Brontosaurus (didn’t they rename that dinosaur?)

Love this.

Hot legs, cute shoes, gorgeous ring.

Thanks for a fun session!

Denise Lenard - Truly beyond words……
feelings….everywhere…feelings…love lives here!
These images are inspiring!

Carolyn Brown - I too appreciated the pics and look forward to the weekend in Pittsburgh. Like Mary Walley, I enjoyed your Aggie comments. As the daughter of an Aggie and the mother of an Aggie and a friend of the new Aggie football coach, I look forward to a lot of Aggie spirit when things get a little loose at the reception!

Brittany - These are so beautiful – I love the lighting!

Ashley - In the picture with the “hot dog” it looks like your bride to be is wearing a veil! I thought it was kind of funny!

Milla - uh…. beautiful beautiful beautiful!! I just love these… great job, Mary.

Mary Walley - Thank you so much for the beautiful pics of my baby girl and my future son-in-law that I adore! You captured their personalities like never before (and that is a difficult task since their personalities are so big!) I loved, loved, loved your personal writing about meeting another Aggie. I can’t wait to meet you in November. Once again, you did an outstanding job! Mary Walley

P.S. There will be lots of airbrushing in Nov. pics for some of us right?!
