Sheraton Station Square Wedding Photos | Stephanie and Greg

Saturday turned out to be a splendid day for Stephanie and Greg’s wedding at the Sheraton Station Square across from downtown Pittsburgh. To say I’d been waiting for this wedding for a long time would be an understatement. Stephanie and Greg booked me for their wedding way back in January of 2009…and yet, it’s amazing how quickly the time flew by! After photographing their fun engagement session along the North Shore and Point State Park (back when it was open!), I knew their wedding day was going to be a blast.

After the usual getting ready process, Stephanie and Greg exchanged vows at St. Sylvester’s Church in Brentwood. Then we all headed to Station Square for some more photos and an incredible reception at the Sheraton Station Square. Stephanie’s attention to detail was amazing…I’ll have to share it more in another post, and the staff at the Sheraton were superb. Add an awesome rocking band, Dreamscape, and you’ve got a night of celebrating! Stephanie and Greg, a huge congratulations to you two!

Stephanie and Greg had a great group of friends and family in their bridal party.

At first glance, I thought it was a “B and G” for bride and groom, it’s actually “S and G.” Both work!

I love how you can see the reflection of downtown Pittsburgh in the photo.

Stephanie’s dress was gorgeous…she looked amazing.

The best man gave quite the speech, using several props. This is one of the more “tame” ones.

Stephanie’s turn to be hoisted into the air…

After the reception ended, we ran outside to get a couple of night skyline pictures of Pittsburgh.

Stephanie and Greg, thanks for being so fun!

Tammy - LOVE the shot of the party room on one side – downtown Pittsburgh out the window on the other! The coloring is perfect!!!

Mark - What is the slowest you would want to handhold, with bounced on or off camera flash at a reception?

Last weekend, at my 1st wedding and to keep from having the images in a black hole, I set to 1600iso on a Canon 5D classic, I was using a 35mm F2.0 set to f2.0, and ended up having to shoot anywhere from 1/30-1/50 with ETTL 580ex on Cam with Black Foamee adding direction of light. The pics look nicely focused, but can you go less than 1/30sec or should I go to ISO3200- Iā€™m afraid of noise.

I was starting to get confused with metering, I actually centered out the meter and let the ETTL flash do what it will, I DID NOT adjust the FEC on flash?

What do you do when the head table in a dark room is set up against a row of windows with very bright conditions outside?

stephanie - thank you so much mary! the day was perfect and the photos are AMAZING. you captured every emotion and ALL of the fun and excitement. Greg and I cannot wait to see the rest!

Julianne - Awesome job! You definitely captured the atmosphere šŸ™‚
